Labour conference: Ed Balls on homes and stamp duty
The shadow chancellor has recalled how the Labour party conference called for a list of actions when it met one year ago - but claimed David Cameron had done "next to nothing"
Ed Balls said "we must go further and we must act now" as he called for the expected £4bn windfall from the sale of 4G mobile phone spectrum to fund 100,000 affordable homes to rent and buy.
He also called for a stamp duty holiday for first time buyers and said it was time to "cut through the dither and rhetoric".
