Tories on gay marriage: Peter Bone and Tim Montgomerie
There is "no mandate in any political party, not in any manifesto" for gay marriage said Tory MP Peter Bone, who said marriage should be between a man and a woman.
ConservativeHome editor Tim Montgomerie said the Freedom to Marry campaign group spoke for "mutual tolerance and support for equal rights".
The pair debated a Daily Telegraph letter, external from leading Conservatives - including David Cameron, John Major, Michael Gove, and Boris Johnson - backing gay marriage.
