TV news: Wayne Hemingway on science and design stories

Broadcasters should look for more good news, rather than the disasters and grim happenings that lead TV bulletins, says designer Wayne Hemingway.

He called for more design and science correspondents, and fewer staff with a crime or war brief, as he listed a few stories he believed should have made the news.

Reporting from the BBC's newsroom at Broadcasting House in central London, he put the case for more stories that would put a smile on viewers' faces.
