Flooding: West Country takes 'major hit'

The Environment Agency have said the West Country has taken a 'pretty major hit' over the weekend with "many people getting flooded out and many others have had their travel plans disrupted".

Speaking from Exeter, Martin Weiler said, "The good news is that our flood defences have really stood up well...protecting thousands of properties and businesses."

North-east England and north Wales are braced for possible flooding as the weather front which brought heavy rain to southern England moves north.
