Falkland Islands politicians in London for Hague talks

Falkland Island politicians made the 8,000-mile journey to London after an invite by Foreign Secretary William Hague, to take part in discussions with him and Argentina's foreign minister

Their presence was not welcomed by Hector Timerman, who pulled out rather than allow them to be present.

Dick Sawle said they would meet Mr Hague and MPs, adding "we are always open for dialogue" and problems would be bigger if they did not talk.

Jan Cheek said said by coming over the islanders' 'views would be represented and they could counter any "misinformation" from Argentina.
