Scottish independence: Nicola Sturgeon on vote date

Scotland's Deputy First Minister said the nation's electors would be "fully enlightened" for the Scottish independence vote when Andrew Neil asked if it could take place on a dark day in November 2014.

Nicola Sturgeon said there was a "real sense of anticipation" ahead of the date to be revealed on Thursday afternoon by First Minister Alex Salmond.

She said "today kicks off the campaign properly" but was giving few clues ahead of the announcement.

The date was later announced as 18 September 2014
