Paul Sykes on backing UKIP to get EU referendum in UK
A former Tory backer, who is now planning to support UKIP financially, said he had "only got one target" and that was to see the party win the 2014 European elections.
Paul Sykes told Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics: "I want to campaign for Britain to break free from the EU and UKIP are the party to do it."
Mr Sykes, who said he was not a member of any party and did not vote, backed the Conservatives under Margaret Thatcher and Michael Howard, but reckoned David Cameron may be "nowhere in sight" when it came to delivering his pledge of an in-out referendum in 2017.
