James Landale on David Cameron Tory cabinet reshuffle

The BBC's deputy political editor was asked if the Cabinet reshuffle was a cull of white middle-aged men, as more women are brought to the front bench.

James Landale said most of those leaving had gone "relatively gracefully", but may later cause trouble on the back benches by writing in the newspapers.

He said: "It is unfair, basically a lot of these have done reasonable jobs", but the prime minister "needed to renew the government".
