Cooper: Tories mismanage of asylum and immigration
The government does "not have a grip” and action was needed on the numbers of asylum cases and work visas to cover skill shortages, Labour's shadow home secretary has said.
With net migration rising by 504,000 in the year to June – party due to Ukraine and Hong Kong arrivals – Yvette Cooper said Labour “has out a plan” to deal with the immigration issues that the Conservatives have not addressed.
