Power has now been restored to the final homes cut off after severe storms battered Scotland at the end of last week.

At the height of the gales, which struck on Thursday into Friday, up to 150,000 homes were without electricity across the country.

Some customers went all weekend without power as engineers worked to reconnect damaged lines.

The last of these were brought online early on Monday morning.

A spokesman for SSE (Scottish and Southern Electricity) said: "Our engineers have worked in to the early hours and all customers are now with power. 105,000 reconnected in total."

Scottish Power had a smaller number of affected customers, and said they were all reconnected by Friday night.
