Storm force winds hit Scotland

Commuters have been warned to prepare for major disruption during rush hour with storm force winds expected to batter parts of Scotland.

Some road bridges have been closed while delays on the rail network are also likely.

The red warning issued by the Met Office predicts winds gusting up to 90 miles an hour across much of Central and Southern Scotland.

Commuters are advised to leave work early if possible. Otherwise, they have been urged to check travel updates and allow extra journey time.
