Ardnamurchan residents meet Nicola Sturgeon over medical cover

  • Published

Community leaders said they had received an apology over the level of out-of-hours emergency medical cover in west Ardnamurchan in the Highlands.

They said it was given during a meeting in Edinburgh with Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon and Scottish Ambulance Service bosses.

There have been long-running worries about cover in the remote area.

An experienced ambulance technician has now been stationed in the local area and further measures are expected.

Rosie Curtis, one of 40 people who travelled to Edinburgh for the meeting, said she was delighted that immediate action was being taken.
