Hebridean Celtic Festival opens in Stornoway on Lewis

New band Gria won a competition to play at HebCelt

The 18th annual Hebridean Celtic Festival has opened in Stornoway on Lewis.

Acts playing at HebCelt include Karine Polwart, Van Morrison, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Dougie MacLean, Capercaillie and The Battlefield Band.

New Glasgow-based band Gria won a competition to perform at the festival.

The band's members are Ceitlin Smith, of Lewis, Louise Bichan, from Orkney, Lana Elaine, from Shetland, and Gemma Telfer, from Northumberland.

HebCelt closes on Saturday night.
