An exhibition of a lifeboat volunteer's photography has opened in Edinburgh. The images by Nigel Millard, a member of Torbay RNLI, include Stornoway's lifeboat in action

Mr Millard spent two years taking the images he needed for his exhibition

The exhibition - The Lifeboat: Courage on our Coasts - also features fund-raisers such as Gwyneth Atkinson who has supported Rhyl lifeboat for more than 10 years

Mr Millard's travels took him to Barra in the Western Isles where he took this image of a local volunteer
