Cara Dillon joins a line-up of more than 30 acts for this July's HebCelt

Award-winning Irish singer Cara Dillon is to perform at the Hebridean Celtic Festival in Stornoway.

Dillon, a former Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year, will appear on the event's main stage on 18 July.

She joins the biggest line-up in HebCelt's 19 year history. More than 30 acts are set to perform between 16-19 July.

Cajun four-piece Magnolia Sisters, from the US, and Edinburgh alternative folk rock band Dante are among the acts.

A new acoustic stage is being added for the first time to this year's festival.

Director Caroline Maclennan has welcomed Dillon's addition to the acts already confirmed.

Ms Maclennan said: "She is an outstanding singer who adds yet more quality to an already outstanding line-up."

She added: "The acoustic stage is something new and different for us and is driven by our desire to offer as wide and diverse a programme as possible for our audience.

"I am sure people will find it an interesting addition."
