Woman dies after two-vehicle crash in Strathspey

A 38-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in the Highlands.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision between a car and a lorry on the A95 near Dulnain Bridge, south-west of Grantown-on-Spey at about 07:45.

Police said the woman, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 53-year-old male driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The road around Dulnain Bridge was closed for about eight hours to allow for a police investigation.

Police Scotland, external has appealed for information on the crash.

Sgt Chris Donaldson said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died as a result of this crash, and our inquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed, or was in the area around the time of the crash to contact us and I would also ask that anyone who may have dashcam footage which could assist our investigation to get in touch."
