Hunt on for £142,000 Aberdeen council chief executive

The new chief executive of Aberdeen City Council will be paid just under £142,000, it has been announced.

A shortlist of candidates - to replace Sue Bruce, who has taken on the same post in Edinburgh - will be agreed on 9 November.

The post will be advertised for three weeks, starting next month. The salary will be £141, 834, 5% of which will be performance-related.

Councillors in Edinburgh approved the appointment of Ms Bruce last week.

She previously held the same post at East Dunbartonshire Council and replaced Douglas Paterson in Aberdeen in 2008 after he took early retirement.
