A by-election is being held in the wake of the jailing of a former Aberdeen city councillor.

Scott Cassie, 60, resigned as a councillor in April and was jailed for a year last month after admitting embezzlement.

The by-election is for the Airyhall, Broomhill and Garthdee ward.

The four main parties are all fielding candidates. There are two independents standing plus candidates from the Green Party and the Scottish National Front.

The count will then take place on Friday.
