Last-ditch RAF bases appeal made to Liam Fox

A last-ditch appeal to abandon feared airbase closures in Scotland has been made to Defence Secretary Liam Fox.
News of the future of RAF Lossiemouth in Moray and RAF Leuchars in Fife could be released next week. Campaigners have been trying to save them.
SNP Westminster leader Angus Robertson said both should remain.
He has accused the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of planning "massive and disproportionate cuts to the RAF in Scotland".
The UK government earlier decided to scrap the fleet of new Nimrod spy planes at Kinloss in Moray as part of the defence review.
Scotland Office minister David Mundell later said the SNP was indulging in an "irresponsible guessing game" by anticipating the official announcement.
He accused Mr Robertson of "an ill-advised exercise in mis-information."
