Aberdeen's new Lord Provost has been named as George Adam.

Labour's Mr Adam was elected at a meeting of the city council on Wednesday morning.

As expected, Labour's Barney Crockett is the new leader of the authority, with independent member Marie Boulton now the depute leader.

Labour councillor Willie Young is convener of the finance and resources committee. The council is run by a Labour/Conservative coalition.

The coalition relies on the support of three Independents.
