Redesign plans for Aberdeen Art Gallery have been approved by councillors.
The redesign of the Schoolhill building - costing tens of millions of pounds - was backed by 27 votes to 15 by Aberdeen City Council.
During Wednesday's debate, deputy council leader Marie Boulton said it was not perfect, but offered something new.
Historic Scotland will still have to approve the redesign.
The project is in line for £10m of Lottery funding.
