A bid to regenerate a historic derelict site in Aberdeen has taken a step closer after planners approved an urban village development in principle.

Ferness Investment Holdings wants to create 900 flats, studio workshops and gallery space at the former Broadford Works textile mill.

The developers now have to bring forward a detailed programme to be approved.

There have been several fires at the site in recent years.
