Plans to demolish a granite former primary school in Aberdeen have been rejected by councillors.

The proposals for Victoria Road school - which shut its doors in 2008 - would have seen more than 50 homes built, but scores of objections were lodged.

Planning officials described the structure as a locally significant granite building.

Councillors voted unanimously to reject the plans.
