The energy services firm, Wood Group, has been awarded a five-year contract to help maintain gas and electricity supplies to Munich.

The deal is with Stadtwerke München, Germany's largest municipal company, which supplies gas and electricity to about one million people.

Wood said the deal strengthened its position as a market leader for maintenance solutions.

Aberdeen-based Wood operates in 50 countries and employs 28,000 people.
