Dumfries 'super school' consultation extension likely

  • Published

Consultation on radical proposals to develop a new super school in Dumfries looks set to be extended.

Dumfries and Galloway Council's education committee is to consider a recommendation to continue the process until at least next summer.

It follows pressure from the EIS teaching union about the plans for all S4 to S6 pupils in the town.

The consultation process on the project is currently due to run until the end of November.

The news comes ahead of a public forum being hosted by the Nithsdale Area Committee in the town.

The event is being held at the Park House Suite in the Cairndale Hotel on Wednesday and starts at 18:30.
