Dumfries and Galloway data centre consent extension agreed

A council has agreed to extend planning consent for three years on proposals for a data storage centre - just weeks after rejecting a similar application.

It allows more time for multi-million pound plans to progress at Peelhouses Farm north of Lockerbie.

Last month a bid for a similar three-year extension on data centre proposals at Johnstonebank Farm near Ecclefechan were rejected.

Planning officers had advised approval on both occasions.
