A virus known to cause vomiting and diarrhoea has prompted the closure of a hospital ward in Dundee.
NHS Tayside has closed ward 4 at the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) to new admissions following several suspected cases of norovirus or winter vomiting bug.
Health officials said the move was taken as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, ward 5 at Ninewells hospital in Dundee has reopened following an outbreak of norovirus.
The health board said all appropriate infection control measures had been put in place at the RVH.
NHS Tayside is urging people who may be feeling unwell or experiencing vomiting and diarrhoea not to visit their friends and family members who are in hospital for at least 48 hours.
