Search for missing Stirling University student moves to Forth Estuary

Central Scotland Police are to carry out a search of the River Forth from South Queensferry up to Stirling as they continue efforts to trace a missing teenager.

David O'Halloran, 18, was last seen in Bridge of Allan in the early hours of 18 January.

He had been on a night out in Stirling.

Officers have already searched the river from the Bridge of Allan area up to the A91 road bridge near Springkerse.

Police said the new search would begin when conditions permitted.

The teenager is a first-year student at Stirling University studying mathematics and education and lives in student accommodation close to the campus.

He had been on a night out with friends and had returned to the Stirling University campus in a taxi just before 01:00.

The last confirmed sighting was on CCTV, which showed him crossing Henderson Street in Bridge of Allan, heading in the direction of the Keir Roundabout at about 02:20 on Friday 18 January.

David is described as being 5ft 5in tall, of slim build and has brown hair, with blond highlights, which is short at the back and longer on top.

He was wearing a white t-shirt with a black and green checked shirt on top.

David was also wearing black slim-fit jeans and black trainers.
