Viscountess portrait in Parliament

Help

A portrait of Viscountess Rhondda who was a leading Welsh suffragette and women's rights campaigner is now on show in the Houses of Parliament.

Margaret Haig Thomas fought for women to sit and vote in the House of Lords following World War I although the Lords prevented her from taking her father's seat.

Baroness Gale of Blaenrhondda has been leading the calls for her to be recognised.
