Help

The head of a charity set up to help people on one of Wales' most deprived estates has been jailed for 32 months for stealing £51,000.

Miriam Beard fraudulently claimed money for herself and relative, when it was meant for deprived families.

The judge said the former head of the Communities First charity in Plas Madoc near Wrexham had committed repeated acts of dishonesty to obtain money intended for people in genuine need.
