New Torfaen council chief executive announced

Stephen Vickers will start the role on 5 July

A new chief executive for Torfaen County Borough Council has been appointed.

Stephen Vickers will replace Alison Ward when she retires at the end of March, following 16 years in the role.

Mr Vickers, who is currently a director for adults and communities and adult social services at Herefordshire Council, said he wanted to "play my part in making Torfaen a place where children are inspired to achieve".

He will start the role on 5 July.
