In pictures: Cardiff Half Marathon

An estimated 25,000 runners have taken part in this year's Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday.

Geoffrey Koech won the men's elite race in 1:00:01 and fellow Kenyan, Beatrice Cheserek, was the women's winner in 1:06:48.

This year's race coincided with the 2022 London Marathon.

Mel Nicholls won the women's wheelchair race in 1:00:22, with Richie Powell taking the men's title in 1:08:44. Swansea Harrier Dewi Griffiths was the best placed elite British man in eighth (1:04:15), with Cwmbran's Natasha Cockram (1:13:12) claiming seventh among the women.

Cardiff is one of the UK's biggest half marathon races with thousands of competitors raising money for good causes.

Sunday's race was the 19th edition with organisers saying a record number of overseas competitors had signed up.

Cardiff Half Marathon is part of an international series which includes races in Lisbon, Prague, Valencia and Copenhagen.
