    London Marathon 2022: Yalemzerf Yehualaw wins women's race

    Kenya's Amos Kipruto and Ethiopia's Yalemzerf Yehualaw won their maiden London Marathon titles with breakaway victories in the elite men's and women's races.

    Meanwhile, Marcel Hug and Catherine Debrunner set new course records as they completed an all-Swiss sweep of the London Marathon wheelchair titles.

    What a day it has been in London - and there's not too long to wait until we do it all again.

    This year's marathon marks the third and final time the London Marathon will take place in October - moved because of the Covid-19 pandemic - with the race returning to its traditional spring date in 2023. Bring on 23 April!

    BBC newsreader Sophie Raworth was speaking to BBC TV earlier at Tower Bridge, the half-way point, and said she was struggling with a calf injury. She said she had felt something pop and wasn't sure if she would be able to finish the race.

    It looks like Sophie has managed to get over the finish line as one of the many familiar faces taking on the marathon today.

    Well done Hannah Mitchell. Running her first marathon raising money for Medway Maritime Hospital intensive care unit who cared for her sister Rachael who passed away in 2004. Following in her dad's footsteps. Richard ran 2 London marathons in 2004 and 2006.

    Shout out for Paul Marlow who's wife Amanda died last week. He's supporting Lakelands Hospice In Corby. Such courage, he's still got to face Amanda's funeral on Friday. Bless you Paul and family xxx

    Mark Wright is also running today for Flora as part of their Get Towns Active campaign, which is all about encouraging people across the UK and Ireland to live a healthy and more active lifestyle.

    Mark had to pull out at the last minute last year due to a calf injury but is going well today and has been waving to his family supporting him in the crowds, including actress wife Michelle Keegan.

    Former England footballer and BBC pundit Stephen Warnock has just been on BBC TV, he's running the marathon for MNDA [Motor Neurone Disease Association] and stopped to chat with Jeanette Kwakye:

    "I'm in agony! My hip went around 10 miles! I'm doing it for a fantastic cause. I'm dragging myself round.

    "I need the help of the crowd and they are incredible."

    "The race was really good and perfect weather, I really enjoyed it and did my best.
