Driver in Risca has patio slab thrown through windscreen

A man has warned other drivers after part of a patio slab smashed through his windscreen and hit him as he was driving at 70mph.

Ian Pugh, 39, ducked to avoid the 1.5in-thick piece of tile as he was making his way home on the A467 near Risca, Caerphilly county.

He was hit on the shoulder, but said: "If it was a couple inches to the right it could have been a fatality."

Mr Pugh uploaded a video of the damage on TikTok and said he had 10 people contacting him to say they have had similar experiences on the same road.

Gwent Police has confirmed it is investigating the incident.
