Fireworks malfunction at Caerphilly show prompts investigation

A fireworks display which went wrong at a primary school has left people screaming and running for safety.

It is not yet known if anyone was hurt on Monday evening at Derwendeg Primary School in Hengoed, Caerphilly county.

The school's head teacher said an investigation is under way.

Lynsey Wangiel said the school was "incredibly upset", and the display had been run in the same way by a trained professional for 20 years.
