His family paid tribute to him, saying he had the "warmest heart."

"Daniel, our son, brother, and a loving father has been taken away from us far too soon and we are truly devastated.

"He had a huge, and the warmest heart, having such a caring, funny, and loving personality.

"He loved his family and friends, always putting them first.

"We will miss you unconditionally and we were so blessed to have you in our lives, we always treasure the memories we made together.

"We will always love you."

They added they need time to grieve and get over the shock of losing Daniel "in this horrible way".

South Wales Police issued a plea for any witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.
