Tackling the cost of World Book Day with pyjamas

With World Book Day around the corner, many parents will be feeling the financial strain as they buy this year's costume.

But Miskin Primary School in Mountain Ash is taking the event back to its roots - it is all about getting children excited about reading.

This year children at the school in Rhondda Cynon Taff can come in pyjamas or clothes they already own - a relief for many parents.

Leah, whose daughter goes to the school, said this year will be much simpler.

Her daughter will be wearing a school skirt and shirt with a charity shop wand to be Hermione from Harry Potter.
