Biofluorescence: UV lights up forest hidden to human eyes

A researcher is hoping to reveal the "magical world" of the ultraviolet spectrum that many animals can see, but humans cannot.

David Atthowe, of Reveal Nature, said: "It gives you an insight into a hidden world of communication.

"Lot of animals can see in UV and use biofluorescence as a form of communication. Wales is so lucky to have so many beautiful sites [to witness it]."

For those looking to experience the UV world themselves, Mr Atthowe suggests heading out into the garden with a UV torch and seeing what you can find.
