Work on a £300,000 flood defence on a new-build housing estate in Denbighshire is due to begin later.

More than 120 homes were hit in November 2012 as the Glasdir estate in Ruthin was still being built.

The work starting on Monday is expected to last two months.

Councillor David Smith said: "Hopefully, this scheme will remove any remaining anxieties that the Glasdir residents still feel after the 2012 floods."

Natural Resources Wales has approved a 90cm (35ins) high wall following consultation with residents.
