A walker who died on Snowdon at the weekend was a 21-year-old student from the USA, it has been confirmed.
Jarred Maillet, from Maine in the north east of the country, was found lying close to a walking route at 2,500ft (762m) after an apparent fall.
Mr Maillet, who was studying at Manchester University, was flown to hospital at Bangor by an RAF rescue helicopter but had already died.
An inquest at Caernarfon into his death has been opened and adjourned.
Mr Maillet's body was recovered by members of the Llanberis and Aberglaslyn mountain rescue teams before being airlifted.
The same Sea King crew from RAF Valley was then called to the aid of a paraglider who needed hospital treatment after his canopy failed.
Mr Maillet's inquest was adjourned by coroner Dewi Pritchard-Jones after evidence of identification was taken.
