Nightly closures of a tunnel on one of Wales' busiest commuter routes begins on Sunday as new lighting is installed as part of a £42m upgrade.

For up to nine weeks, the westbound carriageway of the A55 Penmaenbach tunnel will be completely closed at night with one lane open in the day.

New lighting has already been installed in the Conwy and Pen-y-Clip tunnels.

Transport Minister Edwina Hart said the work would reduce the need for any unplanned closures and disruption.
