A55 Penmaenbach tunnel closures for improvements

Lights have already been replaced in the A55 Pen-y-Clip tunnel

A tunnel on one of Wales' busiest commuter routes faces nightly closures for up to nine weeks as new lighting is installed as part of a £42m upgrade.

The westbound carriageway of the A55 Penmaenbach tunnel will be completely closed at night with just one lane open during the day from 18 October.

New lighting has already been installed in the Conwy and Pen-y-Clip tunnels.

Transport Minister Edwina Hart said the work would reduce the need for any unplanned closures and disruption.
