Man, 26, in court charged with Henry Ayabowei murder

Henry Ayabowei played football for a number of clubs on Anglesey

A 26-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a father-of-two in Gwynedd.

Henry Ayabowei, known as Henry Esin, was found collapsed near a Bangor nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.

The 27-year-old, from Llangefni, Anglesey, was taken to hospital, but died on Sunday morning.

Kieren Roberts from Bangor appeared before Llandudno magistrates on Wednesday and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Caernarfon Crown Court on Thursday.

Mr Ayabowei played football for a number of clubs on Anglesey and was described as a "true gentleman in every sense" by Llanfairpwll football club.
