The new editor of the South Wales Echo has been announced.

Executive editor Catrin Pascoe will take over from outgoing boss Tim Gordon, who is leaving after more than 25 years in the industry.

It is part of an editorial structure change at Media Wales, which will deliver digital news first.

Last month it was announced Mr Gordon and Wales on Sunday's editor Simon Farrington would be leaving to pursue "new business ventures".

Other new appointments within the group include WalesOnline editor Ceri Gould deputising as editor-in-chief.
