A planning application to regenerate Carmarthen town centre has been submitted.

The county council wants to enhance Jackson's Lane, external with a new landscaped public square, shops, office space, cafes and an outdoor digital screen.

It is hoped the developments will allow the area to become a "destination in its own right" and promote a cafe culture.

A public consultation on the plans was held in September.

In its application, the council said the proposal "aims to provide a unique respite between St Catherine's Walk and King Street" by promoting a creative cafe, cultural and small business hub that is accessible to the public.
