'My drive is reviving the culture of stone lifting'

A farmer from Cumbria has made it his mission to find England's ancient lifting stones which were used as a show of strength over the centuries.

Calum Stott found that they were popular in places such as Ireland, Scotland and Iceland and thought they must exist across England too.

The 34-year-old located a 130kg (287lb) stone in a couple's back garden in Teesdale and is now searching for more.
