Gething says he will not stand down over leak row

Amid a row over his sacking of a minister, First Minister Vaughan Gething has said “of course” he will remain in post.

Mr Gething has said there was evidence a photograph of Hannah Blythyn’s phone had been sent to a website which published the story that triggered her dismissal.

Nation.Cymru used the picture to reveal Mr Gething had said he was deleting messages from a chat group full of ministers in August 2020, during the pandemic.

“I’ve been completely upfront and honest, as I’ve told you on more than one occasion,” he said when asked by the BBC about the issue.
