Suspected drink-driver found snoring at roadside

A suspected drink-driver was found snoring behind the wheel at the roadside with his engine still running.

The moment police woke the man up in Papworth Everard, Cambridgeshire was caught on an officer's bodycam.

The Mercedes van was tracked down after a concerned member of the public reported seeing a man stumbling into the vehicle and driving away at about 03:15 BST on Sunday, 29 June.

Footage shows an officer repeatedly asking the man if he knows where he is but failing to get a response before explaining he is to be breathalysed.

The driver pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis and was handed a 12-month community order, ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and disqualified from driving for 18 months.
