Rolex robbers fought off by grandad with a takeaway

CCTV footage has been released of a grandfather fighting off muggers in west London by swinging takeaway bags at them as they tried to steal his Rolex watch.

Christopher Harris was targeted in July last year as he returned with the food to a rented property in Paddington he and his family were staying in.

Amine Bentaib attempted to steal the watch worth an estimated £18,000 in Bouverie Place, aided by accomplice Rayan Belhadj, but Mr Harris fought back and they left empty-handed.

Bentaib was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday to three years and nine months for attempted robbery.

Belhadj was handed a three-year custodial sentence in February at the same court, for the same offence.
