What has 25 years of devolution given us?

Devolved politics began in Wales 25 years ago, with powers over areas such as the NHS being transferred to what is now the Senedd from Westminster.

Gareth Lewis takes a look at some of Wales' most headline-grabbing policies since 1999.

Wales was the first UK nation to charge for plastic carrier bags.

The Welsh government also introduced free prescriptions.

However, one policy has captured people's attention more than most - and that is lowering the default speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on many residential roads.

Such was - or is - the controversy, the government under new First Minister Vaughan Gething has promised changes because of the backlash.
